HISTORY OF THE CHAPETER

“ECONOMY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN AGRICULTURE”

The Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship in Agriculture was created in 1936. From 1965 to 1984, the department was called “Economics and Organization of Agricultural Production.”  During these years, the department was headed by the Honored Economist of the Kirghiz SSR, Professor E.I. Arabaev.

Subsequently, the Department of Agricultural Economics was headed by Associate Professor Zh.M. Batyrkanov. (1985-1990), assistant professor Alkadyrov M.A. (1990-1992), prof. Abdymalikov K.A. (1992-1995), prof. Dzhuzenbaev B.Zh. (1995-2004), assistant professor. Iskakov T.I. (2005-2007), prof. Dzhumalieva E.B. “Agricultural Economics named after E.I. Arabaeva”, (2008-2010), acting associate professor. Oganova G.O. “Economy and entrepreneurship in agriculture named after. E.I. Arabaeva” (2010-2011), associate professor. Oskonbaev A.B. (2012-2014). From 2014 to the present, the department is headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sheralieva Zh.A.

HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT“ACCOUNTING, ANALYSIS AND AUDIT”

The department was organized in 1976 by decision of the Main Directorate of Universities of the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR. The founder and first head of the department was Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor M.I. Israilov.In subsequent years, the department was headed by: Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor T.M. Maralov. (1977-1990);  Ph.D., Associate Professor Israilov M.I. (1990-1993); Ph.D., Associate Professor Erdoolatov A. (1993-1994); Ph.D., Associate Professor Sabirov N.S. (1994-2000); Ph.D., Associate Professor Akmatova Z.A. (2000-2009); acting Associate Professor Bukanov A.I. (2009-2010); Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sheralieva Zh.A. (2010-2014); Ph.D., acting professor Baysalova Zh.M. (2014-2020); Doctor of Economics, Professor Omuralieva D.K. (2020-2024); Ph.D., Associate Professor Chortonbaeva A.T. (2024-2025).Based on the decision of the Academic Council by Order No. 115 of KNAU named after. K.I. Scriabin dated December 18, 2024. The Department of “Economics and Entrepreneurship in Agriculture” and the Department of “Accounting, Analysis and Audit” are united under the name “Department of Economics and Accounting.” Since January 1, 2025, the department has been headed by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sheralieva Zh.A.

Educational activities

The Department of Economics and Accounting provides the following levels of professional training:
1.    Bachelor’s degree

3.    Scientific and pedagogical personnel through postgraduate and doctoral studies;

Economics and Enterprise Management 

          The “Economics and Enterprise Management” profile prepares economics bachelors for computational-economic, analytical, research, and organizational-management professional activities in enterprises of various organizational and legal forms.

          Graduates of the “Economics and Enterprise Management” profile can work as economists and managers in economic, financial, marketing, production-economic, and analytical departments of enterprises and organizations in various industries, sectors, and forms of ownership, as well as in financial, credit, and insurance institutions, and in government and municipal authorities.

          After obtaining their degree, bachelors of the “Economics and Enterprise Management” profile can continue their studies in a master’s program in “Economics and Enterprise Management” and in a doctoral program in the specialty 08.00.05 “Economics and National Economy Management.”

          The objectives of the educational program for preparing bachelors in the “Economics and Enterprise Management” profile are:

  • training highly qualified specialists in the theory and practice of enterprise operations, industry market functioning and development, formulation of corporate strategy and market behavior tactics, marketing, pricing, and innovation policies;
  • forming a broadly educated intellectual personality capable of creative activity in the field of economic science and practice, as well as self-development and lifelong learning;
  • gaining experience and practical skills in solving economic and managerial problems of modern enterprises, developing the ability to navigate in conditions of change and uncertainty.

          In accordance with the requirements of the Educational Standard, developed by the University’s Educational and Methodological Association, which has received a “Special Status” for the “Economics” program, students of the “Economics and Enterprise Management” profile study all disciplines of the professional cycle (general professional and basic parts).

          Economics is the most universal economic specialty, allowing students to master the techniques and methods of effective business management and production organization, enabling enterprises to achieve the best results with minimal costs and ensure their strategic competitiveness.

Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing 

          The “Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing” profile prepares economics bachelors for computational-economic, analytical, research, and organizational-management professional activities in the field of accounting, financial analysis, and auditing in enterprises of various industries and forms of ownership.

          Graduates of the “Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing” profile can work as accountants, auditors, financial analysts, tax consultants, internal control specialists, and management accountants in accounting, financial, economic, and analytical departments of enterprises, organizations, government, and municipal structures, as well as in auditing, consulting, and insurance companies, banks, and tax authorities.

          After obtaining their degree, bachelors of the “Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing” profile can continue their studies in a master’s program in “Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing” and in a doctoral program in the specialty 08.00.12 “Accounting, Statistics.”

          The objectives of the educational program for preparing bachelors in the “Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing” profile are:

  • training highly qualified specialists in the theory and practice of accounting, financial and managerial accounting, auditing, tax accounting and control, business activity analysis, internal and external auditing, and financial risk assessment;
  • forming a broadly educated intellectual personality capable of creative activity in the field of financial analysis, auditing, and accounting, as well as self-development and lifelong learning;
  • gaining experience and practical skills in bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax planning, auditing, economic analysis of business activities, and developing the ability to make well-founded managerial decisions in conditions of change and uncertainty.

          In accordance with the requirements of the Educational Standard, developed by the University’s Educational and Methodological Association, which has received a “Special Status” for the “Economics” program, students of the “Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing” profile study all disciplines of the professional cycle (general professional and basic parts).

          Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing is a profile that provides knowledge of methods and tools for accounting, financial analysis, and control, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the financial and economic activities of organizations, as well as the development and implementation of sustainable business strategies.
