Department of Higher Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling

Currently, the department exists under the name “Higher Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling” in the union of the departments “Higher and Applied Mathematics” and “Statistics, Marketing and Modeling”. The history of the department is based on the history of the above-mentioned joint departments: 1. The department “Higher Mathematics” was organized in 1951 at the Hydroreclamation Faculty of the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute named after. K.I. Scriabin in the amount of three employees. In 2003, headed by the head of the department, Professor Tuganbaev U.M. A new specialty “Mathematical Methods in Economics” was opened and the department was called “Higher and Applied Mathematics”.With the growth in the number of students of the then Institute, the staff of the department expanded. The history of the department is closely connected with the names of scientists widely known both in our Republic and abroad. Since 2003, the Department of Higher Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling has been headed by: Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Tuganbaev U.M., Candidate of Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Zhumaliev T.Zh. 2. In 1991, on the basis of the Department of Economic Cybernetics, two departments were formed: “Statistics and Modeling” and “Informatics”. The department in different years was headed by associate professors Kolobaev D.R., Sharshenova A.Sh., Batyrkanov M.Sh. On the basis of this department in 2006, a new specialty was opened – “Statistics”. From 2011 to 2016, the department was headed by candidate of economic sciences, associate professor Kozubekova S.Zh.

In 2022, together with the department of “Accounting, analysis and audit”, the profile “Digital Analytics” was opened. In the modern world, the use of digital resources and technologies is a prerequisite for successful financial and economic activity in any professional field. Graduates of the Digital Analytics profile are specialists with high digital literacy who successfully solve issues of digital consumption and security. The curriculum of this profile includes disciplines that allow you to master the mechanisms of new technological trends in the field of digitalization of various sectors of the economy. The emergence of the “Digital Analytics” profile in the “Economics” direction is due to the business community’s request for specialists capable of conducting in-depth analysis in the interests of the company, with knowledge in the field of IT and economics. Graduates of the profile can not only find employment in private IT companies, but also successfully work in the public sector.
